Recombinant Soybean Trypsin Inhibitor is a competitive serine protease inhibitor that inhibits trypsin, chymotrypsin, kallikrein and plasmin. The ability to inhibit trypsin is higher than that of chymotrypsin and plasmin. In addition, it also inhibits plasma kallikrein and coagulation factor Xa, but it does not inhibit metalloproteinases, tissue kallikrein, acidic proteases, and sulfur-containing proteases. Inhibitors and proteases can be equimolarly operatively bound to form a stable complex that blocks the active site of the enzyme.The pH ranges of suitable trypsin inhibition is pH 6.0-10.0. The recombinant soybean trypsin inhibitor is expressed in recombinant E. coli and purified. No animal-derived contamination was found and no other proteases were contained.
